Dr. Greg Carr speaking at the 28th annual Kemetic Studies conference convened by the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations gave this rousing talk: “Translation and Recovery: Intellectual Work and the Development of African ‘Smart Power’ In the Era of Africana Studies.” Given all that has and continues to occur regarding the development, implementation and maintenance of Africana Studies presentations such as these take on renewed levels of importance.  Carr is introduced here by the late international president of ASCAC Queen Nzinga Ratibisha Heru.

*This presentation took place at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on March 19, 2011.

  1. I was proud to be in attendance . I if memories serves that is where I introduced myself to Dr Ball and thanked him for his radio program. As I live on the west coast and Professor Ball program helps me to stay abreast of east coast events. Thanks to the Queen and Dr Carr for the shout out. And I didn’t know that the incident in the Valley of the Kings would become part of the historical record, thanks to Dr Carr and Dr Professor Jared Ball’s “I MIXWHATILIKE” Peace, if you’re willing to fight for ! Indeed !
