The Continuance of the U.S. Role as a Settler Colony Criminal Enterprise
“Malcolm was very intelligent, with a good sense of humor, a wise man. When he talked, he held me spellbound for hours”: Muhammad Ali.
[ ‘Muhammad Ali in Perspective’; Thomas Hauser, Oct. 1, 1996 ].
“Though Ali biographers blame the NOI for Malcolm’s assassination, the secret government’s role in executing those considered its foes has been
documented in such books as John Perkins “Confessions of an Economic Hitman’ and Chuck Barris’s ‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind’, as well
as the findings of the 1970s Church Committee. The government’s role in the assassinations of Martin Luther King,Jr. and Malcolm X cannot be
ruled out. Moreover, since the government infiltrated both the Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam, one can never know how much of the
organizations bad press stemmed from the actions of agents provocateurs”. [ ‘The Complete Muhammad Ali’; Ishmael Reed, 2015 ].
An Anecdote--
“March 8, 1971, a cab driver, a day care provider, and two professors broke into an FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania, and stole more than 1,000
classified documents that they then mailed anonymously to several U.S. papers. They were members of the Citizen’s Commission to Investigate
the FBI. They selected the night of the “Fight of the Century” [ the perfect smoke screen ], why not, it’s the boxing match between Muhammad Ali
and ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier, when most people would be glued to their radios & TV’s.
The documents revealed the FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program– COINTEL PRO- which was a series of covert, and often illegal, activity. The FBI
conducted surveilance, infiltration, discreditation , and the disruption of domestic political organizations– including actions that led to murder”.
[ March 8, 1971: FBI’s COINTELPRO Exposed; Zinn Education Project ].
Malcolm’s criticisms of capitalism and imperialism, along with his heavily impactful travels around the world, would have made him a target of the FBI
