Brought back for me so much of Thoreau’s essays on John Brown & the Fugitive Slave Law, & so much more, like Diane Giardina’s book Storming Heaven, on the Redneck War (the Battle of Blair Mountain)& the the coal miners’ struggle. The book.underscores the multiethnic. multiracial
