My only meeting with Dr. Yosef ben-Jochannan came in November of 2000 while working on my master’s thesis on Dr. John Henrik Clarke.  Doc Ben was kind of enough to grant me an afternoon to talk about his life’s work and friendship with Clarke.  We met first at his favorite diner across from the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York City on Malcolm X Blvd and then went to a brief lecture he gave routinely to medical students and staff at Harlem Hospital.   Afterwards he showed me to his apartment where we taped an interview that is unfortunately only partially captured here.
