Pam Spees of the Center for Constitutional Rights and Barbara Blaine of SNAP say the Catholic Church and Pope Francis are not serious about addressing the church’s on-going struggles with child sexual abuse.

It appears that the Roman Catholic Church and many police departments across this nation share something in common— infallibility; the police hardly never being sentenced for their murders of black and brown people, and the Catholic Church never expelling the priest and bishops accused of pedophilia. In other words incapable of error in expounding doctrine on faith or morals. The western world’s true untouchables.

    1. This is so true Conal B Rose. The intersection of how power treats people of color, queer people and sexually violated people have huge overlaps and cross sections of oppression. As an activist for and survivor of child sexual abuse I have recently read again MLK’s Letter’s from a Birmingham Jail and find it incredibly empowering. Here’s to the good fight. We shall overcome.
