The health of hiphop has take a very sour turn. The artists of the world today have lyrics that are of the mindset that begs to differ from the onset 50years ago. Some aged artists are imitating some of the ways and means of todays artist which is very disturbing. The Last Poets were the true pioneers of the spoken word as well as musicians. Kool Here implemented the musical component of “scratching”. Capitalism stuck its ugly nose and foot into a genre and uprooted the true intentions. Many artists have been co-opted by my the monetary aspects which makes me annoyed as one of many who were there when hiphop started out in the Bronx!
