Jalil Muntaqim will once again come up for parole next month.  Support for political prisoners is essential for at least honoring their efforts and the politics which drove their work and is also essential for maintaining an appropriate standard for defining “progress,” “change,” “advance.”  Particularly now when more than ever a sophisticated application of popular culture and celebrity (better understood as propaganda, psychological warfare or public relations) are deployed to violently disassociate analysis from consciousness we can only be helped by the kind of analytical clarity offered by first the very existence of political prisoners followed by their actual experience, ideas and wisdom.
